The consortium of the INTERSAFE-2 project organized the 1st European Road Authorities Forum on Cooperative Intersection Safety on the 23rd of March 2010 at the INTERTRAFFIC 2010 exhibition in Amsterdam.

This Road Authorities Forum was one of the first workshops in Europe where experts from the ITS community came together with experts from different road authorities, cities and public bodies in order to discuss future possibilities for deployment and standardization of ITS and roadside infrastructure combinations in the field of Cooperative Intersection Safety Systems.

The forum started with some introductory presentations of the INTERSAFE-2 consortium in order to introduce the topic of Cooperative Intersection Safety. The second part of the forum was a moderated discussion together with all the experts in the audience.

Future strategies on the deployment of Cooperative Intersection Safety Systems were discussed. The different views of the experts from road authorities, cities and public bodies are of high interest and importance to the INTERSAFE-2 consortium as well as to the European Commission in order to gain future ideas on the introduction of such Intersection Safety Systems into the market.

The Road Authorities Forum was a great success and addressed a lot of interesting points that will be further used within the INTERSAFE-2 project. The INTERSAFE-2 consortium wants to thank all participant that they contributed to the great success of the forum.
