The safety application currently developed by Volvo Technology in the INTERSAFE-2 project specifically addresses the scenario of right turning in intersections. A variety of different road users meet in urban intersections, both cars, pedestrians, cyclists, but also heavy vehicles such as trucks or busses.

For improving safety at urban intersections, the cooperation between heavy goods vehicles and particularly vulnerable road users (VRU), is an important issue, which is specifically addressed by the Volvo Technology truck demonstrator in the Intersafe-2 project.
