WP6 Structure

In WP6 system development, the integration of the different technical modules developed in previous work tasks into a complete traffic safety application takes place.

Major work steps are:

Task 6.1 Sensor Data Fusion & Environmental Model

Development of perception algorithms based on sensor and V2X communication data, data fusion system and environment model:

      • sensor data fusion
      • intersection modeling
      • model of road users’ path
      • VRU detection
Task 6.2 Situation Analysis & Risk Assessment

Development of an intersection situation analysis, risk assessment module and vehicle-based safety functions:

      • Prediction of host vehicle
      • Analysis of host movement related to traffic signal phase
      • Prediction of other vehicles / VRU path
      • Decision on Warning / Actuator activation
      • Collision likelihood estimation
Task 6.3 HMI & Actuators

Investigation of HMI and actuator strategies and development of vehicle-based safety functions:

      • Analysis of warning and intervention strategies
      • Execution of warning or intervention
      • Dealing with false alarms
      • Dealing with misuse cases

The intersection safety functions developed in this work package will then be integrated and tested in the subsequent work task in Intersafe-2.
