WP 8 - Test and Evaluation
General Evaluation Plan
- Verification of technical requirements
- Verification of operational requirements
- Evaluation of user aspects
- Impact assessment
Task 8.1 Evaluation Plan
- Development of a test and evaluation plan for
-
- technical (system and components)
- functional (false-rate behaviour)
- user-related (acceptance, driver behaviour etc.)
- impact assessment
- Important steps:
-
- Definition of evaluation objectives
- Description of the systems
- Selection of assessment categories
- Definition of methods and indicators
- Definition of experimental setup
- Selection of necessary equipment
- Selection of an appropriate set of test scenarios
Task 8.2 System Tests
- Component tests (sensors and communication, data fusion unit)
- System level test (false/correct alarm rate of functions)
Task 8.3 User Trials
- Investigation of Driver
-
- Reactions
- Behavioural effects
- Workload
- Acceptance
- Willingness to purchase
Task 8.4 System Benefit / Impact Assessment
- Which situations can be detected by the installed sensors?
- Which situations can be coped with by the system (limitations of software and actors)?
- How does the driver react to the system information/warning/intervention
- How does the system influence the driver behaviour in general?
The impact assessment will be conducted in three steps depending on the
regarded functions:
- Traffic flow simulation
- Accident analysis
- Behavioural effect approach
Task 8.5 Demonstration
- The demonstrator vehicles will be presented in a test intersection
